My Adventure with The Flower Lady

So the neighborhood flower lady decided that the stray neighborhood cat needed a home. The cat has pretty much been hanging out in my garage since dropping off a litter of kittens. My nice neighbor decided that she would come over and we would try to catch her. Luckily she brought a 16 year old boy who was going to give her to his mom as a gift. So after 30 minutes of chaos in my garage the cat was finally caught. Of course she is a feral cat so it was kind of risky. Since I know about the possibility of rabies if she should bite me, I pretended to try and catch her, but in reality I just chased her towards the young boy. He did get a little scratch, oh well. He was pretty excited to be able to give this cat to his mother. They were headed to the vet to get her fixed and it would be all his. I just got home a little bit ago and there was a message on my machine that the cat had leukemia and that she decided to put her down instead. Now I feel bad. I hope that the boy wasn't totally bummed out. The poor cat could have finished living her life in my garage, instead her last memories would be of a terrifying event in the garage she called home.
